A half scale Ordnance Rifle mounted on a “Modified” carriage. This meadow is at about 3500 feet altitude on the western slope of the southern Oregon Cascade Range. When firing a black powder gun, you must wait for the smoke to clear to see what you hit; when the firing line consists of several guns the smoke can get pretty thick. This was referred to as the “Fog of War”.
